TWO CARVED 'REALGAR' GLASS SNUFF BOTTLES
POSSIBLY IMPERIAL, POSSIBLY PALACE WORKSHOP, BEIJING, 1730-1840
The first is carved on both sides in the central medallion with scenes of Zhong Kui and a bat, and with diamond diaper on the narrow sides. The second is carved with a basket of blossoming lotus stems.
2 1/8 and 2 in. (5.3 and 5 cm.) high, jadeite and glass stoppers

John Paul Rappolt (1913-2003), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and thence by descent to the present owner.
