A WHITE JADE MUGHAL-STYLE DOUBLE BOX AND COVER
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The box is in the shape of two bud-shaped halves joined in the middle, and raised on a petal and acanthus leaf base. The sides are carved with flowers, as is the top of the cover below the tiny bud-form handle inset in the center with a gold-bordered 'jewel'. The stone is semi-translucent.
