A FINELY CARVED BAIFURONG SOAPSTONE SQUARE SEAL
MID-LATE 17TH CENTURY
The top of the rectangular seal is very finely carved with a mandarin duck grasping the stem of a lotus flower in its beak. One narrow side of the seal is incised with the signature Shangjun. The finely polished, luminous stone is of even pale beige-white color.
