Compare the similar slender, mottled jadeite figure of the Daoist Immortal Lu Dongbin, of comparable height (33.5 cm.), illustrated in the exhibition catalogue, Jade: Ch'ing Dynasty Treasures from the National Museum of History, Taiwan, 1997, p. 209, no. 139. The jadeite used for the two figures appears to be quite similar, as is the style of carving.
