The sides taper to the inner and outer edges and each is incised with four characters and scrolls, the characters Xing You Hentang on one side, and rui yun cheng xiang ('auspicious clouds bring forth propitious omen'), on the other. There is some opaque mottling in the semi-translucent, white stone.
