AN IVORY-INLAID WOODEN POWDER HORN
PROBABLY RAJASTHAN, NORTH INDIA, 19TH CENTURY
In the shape of a fish with curved tail and open mouth, the exterior inlaid with ivory with an engraved geometric lattice, the underside stained darker with roundels punctuating the lattice, the eyes with inlaid brass around an ivory roundel, the tail and the face with further ivory-inlaid roundels, suspension hooks attached to either side of the head, the tail possibly repaired
