MAMLUK EGYPT, 14TH/15TH CENTURY AND IRAN, 16TH -19TH CENTURY
Comprising a Mamluk Qur'an section (Juz' III), 31ff., each with 7ll. of strong black naskh script, with gold and polychrome illuminated shamsa and title page, in restored brown binding; A fine and small Safavid Qur'an section starting with sura al-an'am, each folio with 11ll. of text, the first, middle and last line in large gold or blue muhaqqaq script, the rest in two panels of four lines of naskh script, with fine later attribution to 'Ala al-Din Tabrizi and date of AH 982, in gilt morocco; A Qajar Qur'an, each folio with 12ll. of black naskh script, folio at end dated AH 1306, in black morocco binding with stamped floral decoration; And a provincial Persian or Indian Qur'an, 19th century, 469ff. each folio with 11ll. of black naskh script, in stamped reddish brown morocco binding
