The signature cartouche indicates that the scribe of this hilyeh is Yusuf Rashid and that he is an Agha of the circle of Wazir Qubudan Hasan Pasha. Hasan Pasha (1713-1790 AD) was a prominent figure of the 18th century. He was Grand Admiral (Qubudan ''Captain') of the Ottoman fleet between 1770 and 1790. He was Grand Vizier in 1790, the year of his death. He was involved in reaffirming Ottoman power in Palestine, Egypt, Peloponnese and in the Russian-Turkish war of 1787-1792.
