ATTRIBUTED TO EARLY ASTEAS, CIRCA 360-350 B.C.
One side with Dionysos, seated, wearing a cloak draped around his waist and sandals, a wreath in his hair, wearing a dotted bandolier and bracelets, holding a thyrsos in his proper right hand and a laden phiale in his left, an altar behind, grape bunch in the field, the other side with a dancing maenad, wearing a flowing peplos, which has slipped off her left shoulder revealing her left breast, wearing earrings and beaded necklace, hair bound with a berried wreath, holding a tympanum in her left hand and a thyrsos raised in her right, a scrolling foliate stem in the field, a band of wave below, laurel band below the rim, palmettes and scrolling tendrils below the handles, details in added white, yellow and red
