Louis Hottot was a frequent exhibitor at the Paris Salon from 1885 to 1898. He is best known for his Orientalist-themed sculpture, including Fille d'Egypte (1885) and Almie du Caire (1887). The artist also experienced success outside of the Salon as a member of the Société des Artistes Français.
