Decorated all over with shaped plaques depicting mythological scenes, the balustraded top mounted with urns to the front corners, over a pair of cupboard doors opening to an interior fitted with six drawers, above a slant-front writing surface enclosing a compartment flanked to each side by a pair of drawers, over a frieze drawer, on circular tapering legs jointed by a stretcher

Two similar cabinets have recently appeared at auction: the first from the collection of Maria Felix sold Christie’s, New York, 17-18 July 2007, lot 401 ($132,000) and the second sold Christie’s, New York, 18-19 April 2012, lot 428 ($98,500). A third is illustrated in C. Payne, 19th Century European Furniture, Woodbridge, 1981, p. 142.
