Lot Essay

James, 1st Marquess and 19th Earl of Ormonde, K.P. (1777-1838) succeeded his brother Walter, 18th Earl of Ormonde. He was created a Knight of St. Patrick in 1821; he married Grace Louisa (died 1860), daughter of Rt. Hon. John Staples, by his wife Hon. Harriet Molesworth, daughter of 2nd Viscount Molesworth.
