Both composition leather and brass bound, each with blue and yellow stripe and the monogram ‘C de R’ in the same colours, the trunk with leather handles to either end, the interior with one removable tray, the padded lid studded with ribbon taping; the suitcase with leather handle, the interior with two cross straps to the base, the lock of the trunk numbered ‘114293’, the interior label numbered ‘849672’; the suitcase lock numbered ‘044184’, the interior label numbered ‘801458’

The trunk 13 in. (33 cm.) high; 36 in. (92 cm.) wide; 20 in. (51 cm.) deep
The suitcase: 8 ½ in. (22 cm.) high; 30 in. (76 cm.) wide; 18 ½ in. (47 cm.) deep

Lot Essay

The monogram 'C de R' is that of Baroness Clarice de Rothschild, née Sebag-Montefiore, who married Alphonse de Rothschild (1878-1942) in 1912.
