A PAIR OF FRENCH SILVER-MOUNTED DOUBLE-BARRELLED FLINTLOCK CARRIAGE PISTOLS

With blued barrels each with gilt foliate ornament at the muzzle and breech, bright border and scroll engraved tangs each incorporating a wide sighting groove, signed engraved flat bevelled locks, highly figured walnut full stocks, silver mounts including spurred pommels each cast and chased with a portrait bust respectively of a gentleman and lady in contemporary attire, silver crowned escutcheons each engraved with a Maltese Cross and the initials 'PL', and silver-tipped ramrods
