Lot Essay

Nicolas Schradre is recorded as a gilder and painter of patterns, birds, figures and landscapes from 1773-1785. His work is found on a garniture of three vases Chinois in the collection of HRH Queen Elizabeth II. See G. de Bellaigue, Sèvres Porcelain from the Royal Collection, Exhibition Catalogue, The Queen's Gallery, London, 1979, no. 40.
