A RARE CASE OF CHEVAL BLANC 1964
Recently removed from the cellar of a private London residence

Lying in Sunbury-on-Thames, Middlesex (EHD)
Château Cheval Blanc 1964
Saint-Emilion, 1er grand cru classé

In original wooden case with damaged lid. Original tissues. Damp-affected and bin-soiled labels, tissue-stained. Levels: seven top, three upper, one mid/upper and one mid-shoulder
Tasting note: Picked between 22 September and 9 October. One of the loveliest of all the ‘64s. Fine and fruity cask sample and steady, invariably pleasant development, ‘full, soft, velvety, stylish and rounded’ in 1973……..Then a well-nigh perfect bottle: harmonious, a point, dry finish at Hugh Johnson’s Bordeaux Club dinner, December 2001. M.B.
