Hornby Castle is the seat of the Dukes of Leeds. Originally built in the 13th century, it occupies a position overlooking the village of Hornby in the Lune Valley, in a curve of the River Wenning. The central keep tower dates back to 1512 but the house was rebuilt c.1820 in early Victorian style with splendid ornate ceilings and carved wood panelling.
