Two mounted photographic plates in 1876 and one in 1877. 1876 in original printed wrappers (front wrapper detached, both wrappers with losses at margins), 1877 in later red cloth, original front wrapper bound in (rear wrapper lacking). Provenance: J.N. Pentelow? (1877 with initials J.N.P. inscribed on front cover and the word 'scarce' on title-page in the hand of Leslie Gutteridge). Comprising the second and third years of issue, the first having appeared in 1858. There were no further issues. Together with a second copy of the 1877 issue in original wrappers (rather worn) from the library of W.G. Grace (Bearne's Auction of Cricketing Books from the Collection of W.G. Grace, 11 July 1996, lot 53, with lot ticket preserved). Allen 73; Taylor p.22: 'unless by chance, it is now next to an impossibility to procure the three issues'; Goldman p.38; Padwick 4115. Together with the Toronto Cricket Annual [from 1922 the Canadian Cricket Annual]. Toronto: Toronto and District Cricket Council, 1921-1923. 3 volumes, small 8°. (Title to 1921 dust soiled.)
