(Light browning and some heavier marginal staining to frontispiece, marginal stains to first 32 pages of text, pp. 43-44 and 45-46 creased.) Contemporary grey-blue wrappers with octagonal pink title label affixed (rebacked).
FIFTH EDITION. There is no printed slip between pages 54 and 55 regarding alterations to the height of the stumps and width of the popping crease. Whilst the title-page refers to the book in the plural as ‘Cricketers’ Guide’, the label on the front cover reads ‘Cricketer’s Guide’ following the practice of prior editions. Hancock states that there are misprints for the words 'ball' and 'the force' on p. 45 evident in this copy. However, the apparent misprints result from a paper crease which, if stretched out, reveals the spelling to be correct.
