THIRTEENTH EDITION. Many centuries were made in 1875, but comparatively few were in county cricket. G.F. Grace is a notable exception with his 180 not out against Surrey. He 'thereby not only scored more runs than did the whole Surrey Eleven with the bat in either of their innings, but he made the largest Gloucestershire score of the season and the second highest "County" innings' . Alexander Astell Hadow (1853-1894), owner of this copy, played for Harrow and in one match for Middlesex. He was a noted rackets player.
