The Fauconnerie of Charles d'Arcussia (1545-1617) was first published in three parts in 1598: 'the work is much esteemed on account of its originality and the amount of information which it conveys, and particularly for the description which the author gives of flights which he witnessed when hawking with the king' (Harting, p. 82). This edition is the first to contain La fauconnerie du Roy and the poem by Esparron; the Discours de chasse was only included in 1619. Souhart 17; Thiébaud 32; Schwerdt I, 42 (lists only the first work).
