Folio (305 x 250 mm). Engraved title, text and colophon, and 11 coloured aquatints each signed Remigius in the engraving and again in pencil in the margins. (Title browned, top margin of text leaves slightly darkened.) Original linen portfolio with flaps and ties (soiled). Provenance: Hans J. Döpp (small stamp on versos).
A MASTERPIECE OF 20TH-CENTURY EROTIC ART. One of 110 copies only, this one number 76. Dutel notes two variant printings, one, as here, with the plate ‘L’Hésitation aux Portes du Temple’ replacing ‘L’Amour Astronome’. AE and ABPC record only three copies at auction. Dutel 1411; Pia Enfer, 373.
