A LARGE RUSSET JADE YUAN DYNASTY-STYLE 'MYTHICAL BEAST' SEAL
QING DYNASTY (1644-1912)
The square-form seal is carved to the top with a recumbent horned mythical beast with its front legs and head stretched forwards, gripping the edge of the seal with its paws, its long mane extending over its arched back. The seal face is carved with a lanca character. The stone is of a slightly mottled yellowish brown tone.
