A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF TARA
18TH CENTURY
The figure is cast seated in lalitasana on a double-lotus base. Her right hand is raised in shunimudra and her left hand is holding a jewel. She is adorned with jewellery and a tiara and her shoulders are flanked by lotus stems. Her eyes are downcast and her hair is tied in a chignon.
9 1/8 in. (23 cm.) high

From a Private UK Collection, acquired in the 1940s.
