A JADEITE PENDANT AND A JADE CARVING OF A DOG
THE JADE CARVING, HAN DYNASTY (206 BC-220 AD) OR LATER
The pendant is carved to each side with a bird perched on a flowering branch, the stone is of a pale celadon tone with bright apple green inclusions; the carving is modelled as a recumbent dog, the stone is of a grey colour with black inclusions and veins
The larger 2 1/8 in. (5.5 cm.) wide
Provenance
The first, acquired in 1991 from a Private Collector.
The second, acquired in 1990, Hong Kong.
