A GILT-BRONZE AND LACQUERED FIGURE OF A GUARDIAN WARRIOR
MING DYNASTY, 16TH-17TH CENTURY
The standing figure is cast with one hand in front of his chest and the other holding a spear flat against the side of his body. He is dressed in full body armour and wears an elaborate helmet with the characters fo, ri and yue carved to the centre. His shoulders are draped with a billowing celestial scarf which flows down to his feet.
