A PALE CELADON JADE 'ARCHAISTIC' VASE
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The flaring neck is carved in high relief with a dragon chasing the pearl, with two mythical beast-head handles to the shoulder. The exterior of the flattened vase is carved with a band of archaistic monster-masks between a band of ruyi-heads and stylised leaves at the base. The stone is of a pale celadon tone with a few dark veins and inclusions.
