A HONGMU TALL DISPLAY CABINET
LATE 19TH CENTURY
The open upper-section is decorated with cresting carved as a Buddhist lion in a cartouche confronted by two dragons. The pierced back panels are carved with bamboo, gourds, prunus and other flowers. The bottom section with a cupboard to one side above a drawer, the cupboard door is carved with a writhing dragon. The frame is carved with spiralling dragons amongst clouds.
