TWO PALE CELADON JADE PLAQUES
19TH CENTURY
One plaque is of rectangular form and is carved to one side with a recumbent chilong breaking out of a cloud of vapour, the reverse bears a four-character inscription in seal script. The other plaque is of oval form and is carved with a da character surrounded by four of the Eight Buddhist emblems, Bajixiang.
The larger, 3 5/8 in. (9.2 cm.) wide
