MING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY
Both deities are seated on a canopied openwork throne amongst swirling clouds and carry a hu tablet before them. Each has an elaborate headdress hung with tasselled jewels and both wear ornate robes embellished with dragons and phoenix. The painting is rendered in high detail and is highlighted in gilt.
