A FAMILLE ROSE MOULDED SQUARE-SECTION BRUSH POT, BITONG
DAOGUANG IRON RED SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
Each side is decorated and gilt with moulded panels in high relief depicting Kui Xing, the God of Examinations, riding on a dragon in foaming waves alternating with a scholar holding a flower. All four panels are reserved on an incised geometric ground. The edges are decorated with a swirl border, and the base and the interior are glazed turquoise.
