A WHITE JADE 'MOUNTAIN' CARVING
20TH CENTURY
The carving depicts a mountain scene with a deer and crane to one side amongst pine and wutong trees. There is a carved and gilt inscription to the top. The reverse is carved with two scholars walking over a bridge below a flowing river and a further scholar meditating in a rocky cave above. The stone is of a very pale even tone.
