Lot Essay

With Rolex original Guarantee dated June 1991 stamped multiple times by Astrua, product literature, Rolex handkerchief, Rolex original wooden fitted presentation box and outer packaging.

This example of the first automatic Daytona Cosmograph presents a number of attributes that make it extremely appealing to the discerning collector. Its overall condition is absolutely remarkable, close to new-old-stock, the case retaining the Rolex anti-counterfeit sticker. The dial presents the very attractive and unusual variation with diamond indexes. It features the highly sought-after "L serial", which classifies the timepiece as one of the earliest production for the model. Last, but not least, it is consigned by the first owner retailed by famed Turin retailer Astrua, and comes with its full sale kit. This is a rare opportunity for Rolex enthusiasts to acquire a very appealing specimen in nearly "time warp" condition.
