Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin dated December 2009. Furthermore delivered with Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with slate grey dial in 2009 and its subsequent sale on 12 June 2009, leather folder, instructions manual, product literature, original fitted wooden presentation box and outer packaging and service box.

The "Gondolo Calendario" reference 5135 was introduced to the market in 2004, the distinctive and elegant case shape paying tribute to Patek Philippe's from watches from the Art Deco period, underlining the continuous popularity of this celebrated epoch.

The model is fitted with the new automatic calibre 324, incorporating the patented annual calendar function, a proprietary Patek Philippe development introduced in 1996 in the first wristwatch that automatically advances the month, day and date, and only requires a manual correction once a year on 1 March.

The present lot will surprise discerning collectors with the remarkable conservation state. Very well preserved watches, such as the present example, are exceedingly difficult to find on the market, as most buyers intensively used (and at times subsequently polished) their new purchases. Consequently, this is a very appealing opportunity for any serious and discerning Patek Philippe collector.
