Lot Essay

Jane’s husband Wilfrid also painted a view of la Chapelle de St Cassien during the same summer, although from a different angle. The American Jane Emmet de Glehn was a talented artist, like her sisters, and frequently painted alongside her husband and their friend John Singer Sargeant.

We are grateful to Laura Wortley for her assistance in cataloguing this lot.
