A patchwork coverlet of printed cottons and embroidered wools
worked with a central floral vase issuing sunflowers and tulips within an octagonal frame surrounded by trailing flowers with birds, tied with a bow within spandrels of further floral vases, the frame of meandering white and blue cotton printed with a small dot design and outer border of floral rosettes constructed of different shapes with hearts in each corner and outer frame of similar meandering design, unbacked and with paper templates, circa 1790 -- 112½in. x 92in (285.8 x 233.7cm)
