Tables bearing similar designs to the present lot, notably the distinctive central tablet decorated with swags and vase, are recorded in the collection ofWoodside, Frant, Sussex, and Belgrade Castle, Cloidwalkin, Co Dublin (illustrated in M. Harris, A Catalogue and Index of Old Furniture and Works of Decorative Art, 1932, vol. III, p. 328 and p. 337 respectively). A similar table sold at Sotheby’s, London, 7 April 1995, lot 157 (£14,000 including premium); and another one at Sotheby’s, London, 14 July 1995, lot 85 (£5,980 including premium).
