CASE: the rectangular case with engine turned and beaded mouldings to the border, the rear with hinged strut and integral winder, numbered to rear ‘1591’, stamped to interior 'THOS. COLE LONDON'; DIAL: the arched silvered dial with Roman chapters and blued steel hands, engraved to the centre and lower edge with entwined foliage, signed ' C.F. HANCOCK SON & CO./ LONDON’; MOVEMENT: the eight day movement with spring barrel within the main four pillar assembly, lever escapement above with plain steel balance and flat blued hairspring, the movement covered by a convex-moulded plate with escapement viewing shutter, hand-set aperture and winding lever with engraved arrowhead winding direction, the case backplate numbered 1591, the folding strut to the back with unusual wheel runner
