CASE: the domed top with leaf-clasped cone finial, four further finials above the break arch, caryatids to the chamfered angles, glazed sides and rear door, re-decorated; DIAL: the arched 8 inch plate with silvered chapter ring signed 'Thomas Gardner / London' , the centre with painted rural scene, date and mock pendulum apertures, 'Strike/Silent' to the arch, with further painted scene, rococo spandrels to the angles; MOVEMENT: the three-train gut fusee movement with verge escapement, quarter chiming on eight bells and striking the hour on a large bell, with pendulum
