Lot Essay

The present center table is inspired by the celebrated bureau plat created by Charles Cressent at the beginning of the 18th century, now in the Gulbenkian Museum, Lisbon. The model was frequently reproduced by a number of distinguished 19th century ébénistes, including Paul Sormani, François Linke and Eugène Poteau.
