Shaped oblong with foliate handles and reeded, shell and foliate scroll borders, engraved to one side with the arms of Kirwan of Co. Galway, Ireland and inscribed to opposite side His friends in the County & Town of Galway to Denis Kirwan Esqr. of Castlehacket, 17 May, 1845, numbered 3 and 4, bases engraved with crest of a Cornish chough
