Decorated in gilding with two birds in flight within shaped oval cartouches gilt with flowers, trellis and trailing branches, within gilt dentil rims (glaze scratch to rim, minute wear to gilding)

A very similar bleu lapis-ground basin, together with its accompanying covered ewer was sold at Christie's in New York, on 21 May 2003, lot 133.
