CIRCA 1755, RED ANCHOR MARKS TO SOME PIECES
Each piece moulded with a stiff-leaf border enriched in shades of green and puce, painted with flower-sprays and scattered sprigs below a brown line rim, comprising:
A milk-jug (two small chips to upper rim)
A sugar-bowl (broken and repaired with metal rivets)
A slop-bowl (wear to interior)
A saucer-dish (minute rim chip)
An oval spoon-tray (rim chip)
Four teacups (three restored)
Four teabowls (two with minor hairline crack, one with rim chips)
Eight saucers (three broken and restuck, one with hairline crack)

Lot Essay

A white saucer dating from the 'raised anchor' period moulded with the same stiff-leaf border is illustrated by Elizabeth Adams, Chelsea Porcelain, London, 1987, p. 71, pl. 56. A spirally-moulded coffee-cup of the same type was sold in these Rooms on 6 December 2004, lot 48.
