A lady, in mauve dress with gauze collar and trim, wearing a lace bonnet trimmed with ostrich plumes, pearl necklace
Signed and dated ‘Augustin. / 1816.’ (mid-left)
On ivory
Oval, 80 mm. high, rectangular ormolu frame with acanthus leaf motif border
Inscribed on one of the backing cards 'un cristal / de roche de cette / Grandeur Pour / lundi a dix heures / pour M. Augustin / trois pouces de / hauteur sure [sic] deux et / demi de large'.
