Shaded-Roundell Spoons

This group of spoons is discussed at length by Timothy Kent who suggests that shaded-roundell spoons originate '... from Salisbury in the East to Sherborne/Wincanton in the West', however, they do not seem to have been made in Exeter or Cornwall. Kent suggests Salisbury as a likely town of origin (T. Kent, West Country Silver Spoons and Their Marks 1550-1750, Windsor, 1992, p. 21). Shaded-roundell spoons are distinguished by the use of repeated punch decoration on the stems.
