Plain tapering, on circular moulded rim foot with curved faceted spout, hinged domed cover and baluster finial, later engraved with a coat-of-arms, marked on base, below rim, inside cover and on cover bezel
9 ½ in. (24.1 cm.) high
goss weight 27 oz. 16 dwt. (865 gr.)
The arms are those of Thompson, possibly for Beilby Thompson Esq of Escrick, Yorkshire whose only daughter and sole heir Jane, married Sir Robert Lawley Bt. (d.1793) ancestor of the Barons Wenlock. These arms are also borne by the Thompsons of Sherrif Hutton Park, co. York and the Thompsons of Kirkby Hall, co. York.
