A DANISH SILVER-GILT PEG-TANKARD
MARK OF CHRISTIAN SCHRADER, COPENHAGEN, 1707, WITH ASSAY MASTER'S MARK OF CONRAD LUDOLPH
Cylindrical and on three cast lion and ball feet with foliage cresting, with beaded and lion's mask capped scroll handle, the hinged cover engraved with foliage and with a lion and ball finial, engraved with a foliage band surrounding engraved names, initials and the date '1707' and with a later cypher, the inside with ten pegs, marked underneath, further prick engraved underneath with a scratchweight

77 oz. 14 dwt. (2,417 gr.)
The cypher is that of Gregory de Ligne Gregory (1786-1854) of Harlaxton Manor, Lincolnshire.
