MAKER'S MARK SP MONOGRAM, DATED 1616, TOWN MARK THREE STARS
Tapering cylindrical, the knopped baluster stem applied with three cast masks and with three foliate scroll supports, on domed foot, the upper border engraved with foliate strapwork and inscription, engraved on each side with a coat-of-arms, marked on base
9 ¾ in. (24.8 cm.) high
11 oz. 14 dwt. (363 gr.)
The inscription reads 'Disen Becher Ver Ehrt Der Edel und Vest Gipert Spesch Von Ruti Aus Der Gmeind Tsentis der Zit Lantuo Der Herdtschaft Meien feld Einem Wisein Rhat und Burgerschae Meigen Eld Zu Guter Gedechtnus 1616'
