A WHITE JADE 'EAGLE AND BEAR' GROUP
LATE MING/EARLY QING DYNASTY
The stone is carved and pierced in the form of an eagle with its head turned to one side staring at the distance, its wing feathers finely detailed, standing atop a recumbent bear with its head turned up to gaze at the eagle. The semi-translucent stone has a pale celadon tinge and a soft polish.
