A RECTANGULAR DUAN INKSTONE
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The upper surface is smoothly polished with a shaped indentation on one end forming the inkwell. One vertical side is incised with a seal. The sloping underside is finished with two cylinders of different heights. The stone is of an even puple colour with faint scatterd olive-green 'eyes', three of which have been incorporated into the cylinders.
